Join us for IDENTITY: A Song Cycle on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 7:30 PM at the Stage at St. Andrews United Church, Halifax. This performance, which premiered in Toronto last year, offers a rare opportunity to experience a groundbreaking work exploring multicultural identity through music, poetry, and storytelling.
GRAMMY Award-winning baritone Elliot Madore brings to life this world premiere song cycle, with music by JUNO Award-winning composer Dinuk Wijeratne, poetry by acclaimed African Nova Scotian artist Shauntay Grant, and performances by bassist Tyler Emond, pianist/composer Dinuk Wijeratne, and percussionist Nick Halley. Melding Western classical traditions with global musical styles—from South Asian and Middle Eastern influences to modern Pop and Jazz—IDENTITY creates a rich, multifaceted soundscape reflecting the complexity of self and belonging.
