We are delighted to announce the first of what will be an annual Fall fundraising event for Capella Regalis in which Founder & Artistic Director Nick Halley invites his dearest musician friends to perform an evening of music.
Dinuk Wijeratne is a Sri Lankan-born Canadian composer and pianist whose music embraces the diversity of his international background and influences. Joining him on stage will be Nick Halley himself as percussionist, and award-winning bassist Tom Easley, for a night that bends the boundaries of classical, jazz, and world music.
Tickets ($100) include the concert as well as cocktails and hors d’oeuvres designed by Katherine Ryder-Burbidge (restaurant manager and bartender) and Tyson McDow (head chef and co-owner of Halifax’s preeminent pub, The Narrows).
Bar opens at 5 pm, show runs 5:30 – 6:30 pm, and there will be an opportunity to mingle with the artists following the show.
All proceeds will support Capella Regalis’s free educational programs for children. Tickets will go on sale in early October. Stay tuned at capellaregalis.com/events.
Capella Regalis Board Chair, Barbara Butler, will be hosting the South Shore version of this event at Cecilia’s Retreat in Mahone Bay on Thursday, Oct. 27. Contact barbara.butler@ns.sympatico.ca for details.
